The new Swarovski headquarters is located at the eastern bank of Lake Zurich. The main focus of the horseshoe-shaped building, which provides workplaces for about 500 people, is the view over the lake—facilitated by the transparent facade and arrangement of the workplaces. While the first floor accommodates a lobby with lounge, restaurant, conference rooms, and workshops, the open office spaces on the upper floors allow for maximum flexibility in use. The services installations are designed for low energy consumption, with the heating and cooling energy provided via the water of the lake. By using other renewable energy sources, 83.3 percent of the heating load is covered and 100 percent of the required electric power is generated.
