2021 NAICE architects played a key role in creating the new Berlin flagship store for the brand Supreme New York, working in collaboration with Brinkworth, JSC-Studio, the Wilson Brothers and Neil Logan. The shop is Supreme’s fourth European location after recent openings in Milan, London, and Paris. Berlin was chosen especially for its vibrant street life and skater community. The new shop with its high-quality furnishings and exclusive design sets a high standard for retail in Berlin. The location on Torstraße is also surprising, and seeks to set itself apart from the established shopping streets in Berlin.

For the new flagship store, a former car garage from the 1930s on Torstraße in Berlin-Mitte was gutted entirely and reduced to its shell. In close consulting with heritage protection authorities, the historical wooden roof was recreated in its original form and the front façade was redesigned in a harmonic proportionate way. Historical steel glazing was refurbished and upgraded for energy conservation. The original steel beams were exposed. The former garage character was to be kept intact.
