In Berlin-Friedrichshain, the campus for Europe's leading online platform for fashion and lifestyle is being expanded. After HENN completed the headquarters building “X” and the opposite “O” building on the property in 2019, a third, sustainable and partly publicly accessible building will be constructed.
The new “Z” building combines the flair and dynamism of Berlin with the creativity and innovative power of an international technology and trading company. With this last building block, the company wants to open itself to the outside world and make its digital presence physically tangible.
The building cubature reinterprets the traditional Berlin block: the inner courtyards are turned to the outer edges of the building. As vertical atriums, air spaces open up over the entire height of the building and direct daylight to the public areas on the ground floor. The atria develop in a spiral upward movement and give the interior space its sculptural and dynamic appearance. The facade opens gradually towards the two atria and offers views of the building's interior.
The entrance atrium, the showrooms, shops and workshop areas as well as the café form the lively marketplace. The communication rooms are located in the heart of the building, with the regular workstations facing the facade. Larger meeting rooms are centrally located within the Living Rooms. The versatile program brings visitors, employees and customers together in a common place.
