QASR AL HOSN ABU DHABI, UAE

The Qasr al Hosn is Abu Dhabi’s most significant heritage building. Our client’s aims to repurpose the building as a visitor’s centre for the city. For these reasons, all conservation issues associated with the project are extremely sensitive. Further, the building was renovated with modern cement and reinforced concrete in the 1980’s, leading to extensive damage to Qasr Al Hosn’s structural integrity and historic fabric.
In light of this history, ZRS serves as an advising and consulting resource for the project. We provide services such as the assessment of design details and surfaces, as well as supervision for work on site. Material investigations, method statements and strategies are treated as our priority and responsibility. ZRS also leads the professional documentation of all conservation works.
