Principals

David Piscuskas
FAIA, LEED AP, Founding Principal

David Piscuskas, FAIA, LEED AP, co-founded 1100 Architect in 1983. He believes well-designed, functional, and astute architecture can act as a powerful catalyst of inspiration, change, and growth. Following these beliefs, he has completed several award-winning buildings, including the renovation of the Linguistics Department at New York University, Little Red School House and Elisabeth Irwin High School (New York), and the Irish Hunger Memorial (New York).

David is currently serving as the Vice President for Design Excellence for the AIA New York Chapter. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art from Brown University in 1979 and a Master of Architecture degree from UCLA in 1982. David is an NCARB Certificate Holder, Member of the Chamber of Architects in the State of Hessen, and is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects (FAIA).


Jürgen Riehm
FAIA, BDA, Founding Principal

Juergen Riehm, FAIA, BDA, is a co-founder of 1100 Architect. He believes in architecture as the all-encompassing art form, capable of affecting and portraying all facets of life and nature through an honest and timeless expression. Juergen has guided the firm in a number of recognized projects, including the Riverside Health Center (New York), the Queens Central Library: Children’s Library Discovery Center, and the New York Public Library Battery Park City branch.

Juergen received a Diploma in Architecture from FH Rheinland-Pfalz in 1977 and his Post-Graduate Architecture Degree from the Städelschule Academy of Fine Arts in Frankfurt am Main in 1982, where he currently serves on the alumni foundation’s advisory board. He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects (FAIA), Member of the Chamber of Architects in the State of Hessen, and a member of the Bund Deutscher Architekten (BDA).


Gunter Weyrich
Dipl.-Ing. Architekt, BDA, Principal, Direktor Büro Frankfurt

As the Director of 1100’s Frankfurt office, Gunter Weyrich, Dipl.-Ing. Architekt, BDA, employs his strong leadership skills and design background to a wide range of typologies including large scale civic, mixed-use, residential, and office buildings, as well as private sector work. His projects include a new retail store for Zalando, the realization of the multi-residential project Main: East Side Lofts, police headquarters in Lich, the refurbishment of Terminal 1 at Rhein-Main Airport, and a new RDF power station with a construction budget of €300 million. Gunter received his Diploma in Architecture from the University of Kaiserslautern in 1997. He is a member of the Chamber of Architects in the State of Hessen and of the BDA.
